Saucisson!

Five varieties of sausage we sampled.

Five varieties of sausage we sampled.

On Friday we welcomed Sam and Sophie’s grandparents to our classroom. Sophie and Sam talked about the different types of cheese and sausage France has to offer and then we sampled some delicious sausage or “saucission” in french.  The class favorite was the smoked variety and a close runner up was one that came from the south of France.

Save the Date

unnamedOn Thursday, May 22 we will have an end of the year Open House in our classroom.  Students and their parents may drop in anytime between 6:30-8:00pm to celebrate their learning this year.  Your child will have things prepared to share and talk about the various projects they’ve done throughout the year.  Please plan to spend about 30 minutes here that evening.

100th Day

On Friday we celebrated the 100th day of school.  Elementary students traveled from room to room doing a variety of activities with each teacher.  They created their own page for a book called “The Wolf’s Chicken Stew” by Keiko Kasza, decorated opera glasses with 100 stickers, estimated how much 100 drops of water would be, sang a song, and collaborated to make 100 hearts. IMG_0142

Happy Holidays

IMG_0108Many thanks for all your support and assistance this year!  I especially would like to thank Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Rava for helping with classroom things and Mrs. Barrie and Mrs. Dempster for helping us prepare for the holiday performance.  Also, my students, for the thoughtful Christmas gift and all of their hard work since the beginning of the year.

Today we said good-bye to Tim Hardcastle.  His presence will surely be missed in our classroom.  He has been a good friend and classmate to all.   We would like to wish him safe travels and best of luck in his future endeavors.
